Automotive technology is advancing faster than ever before and part of that advancement is to increase fuel economy, of course. Automakers all over the world are constantly working to make fuel efficiency better and Honda has recently filed a patent for something that could make a notable difference: a new transmission.
Specifically, it’s an 11-speed transmission that uses three clutches. With more gears, you would potentially get better gas mileage as you drove and the three clutches should provide faster gear changes for a more fun and engaging drive. It's good news all around and, though we don't know when it will be implemented or in what vehicles, we will keep you up to speed with details as they arise.
