Take a look at a school of fish at the aquarium swimming together. There can be dozens of them swimming in a small space, yet there is no congestion, no major collisions. It fluid. This is completely opposite to what we often experience in highway traffic, but it’s something Honda is using to make traffic more fluid and safer.

It’s called Safe Swarm, and according to techcrunch.com, it’s a system which Honda is designing for vehicles to communicate with each other in order to avoid unnecessary congestion and collisions. As cars become more autonomous and continue to communicate more, this system will be greatly needed in filling in the gaps between human and technological error and giving a near real-time assessment of traffic miles ahead.

While this system is not going to be available for a while, this is still just another way Honda is creating products that keep people safe on the road. If you’re interested in the outstanding safety features already available on our vehicles, please contact us on our website.
